For the first time, Greene County students have the opportunity to join a bowling team as a school sanctioned sport.
Nearly 30 students will open competition at Spare Time Lanes in Jefferson on Monday, Nov. 20, against Clarke of Osceola. John Woodford, owner of the bowling alley, is a volunteer coach. Some of the bowlers will come with experience from being part of the junior bowling program. Practices are set to be held on Wednesdays and Thursdays, with the team competing in an average of one match per week.
